Having started my summer job almost 4 weeks ago I feel like it's time to share with you guys some of the necklaces I have been loving! I wear a very plain and simple black trouser & shirt combo to work and so I have been trying to find professional, yet stylish, jewellery to spice up my look! Below are a few of the items I have been loving...

I've not really had the chance to hit the shops lately so i'd love to hear any jewellery suggestions you might have or any particular shops you buy you're work wear from! I hope you're all enjoying your summer and aren't working too hard! :)

First Impression: St Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil

First Impression: St Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil

Recently I've been feeling a little left out of the holiday club... every time I go on Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat there's always people posting pictures of their holidays in Greece, Spain, America.. oh the list goes on! Don't get me wrong, i'd be doing the exact same thing if i were staying in any of these amazing places, but I am not. I therefore reserve the right to be a little miffed and so I thought it would be a good idea to purchase some kind of tanning product to give myself a little (not so natural) glow.

Now, I usually hate the thought and idea of a spray tan or any kind of self-tanning implement because I have the worst fear of it becoming some kind of orange streaky mess, so I've always stayed away. However, when I went into boots the other day I saw that all St Tropez products were on offer and as a well credited brand I thought I'd give the oil a go. After using this product for around 2 weeks I now feel confident enough to report back to you guys with my honest opinion...

It's amazing!!!! Yes I might be getting a little too excited about this, but I have no holiday to be excited about so this is the next best thing!

  • It's easy to apply.
  • The colour of the oil on first application allows you to see exactly where you have/haven't applied it before it dries to a lighter more golden tone. This allows for a more even coverage.
  • It's buildable.
  • It smells like hand wipes.
  • The packaging is beautiful! It looks so sleek and sophisticated.
  • It dries in seconds!
  • There are small bits of gold glitter in the oil (these aren't very noticeable once applied).
  • If you don't rub it in properly you will be left with a stain.
  • The price (when it's not on offer)
I would 100% say that the pro's of this product outweigh the con's. I can't tell you how many times people have told me I look very 'brown' and it feels amazing! So, if any of you, like me, are not going abroad this year don't feel too down about it because St Tropez have got our backs! My praises for this product could not be any higher.

I'd love to hear if any of you have tried/want to try this product! I always find that what works for one person completely disagrees with another so I'd love to hear about your experiences with this oil! :)

Things to do this summer!

Things to do this summer!

With the summer holidays just around the corner we thought it'd be a good idea to create a little list of fun things we want to do this summer. We find ourselves to be so optimistic and full of dreams of what we want our summer to be every year & so we hope you get a little inspiration when reading some of our ideas :)

Go to an ice-cream parlour. Better yet, buy an ice-cream from the ice-cream van. When we were kids the chime of the ice-cream man was enough to have us running around screaming, let's try and recreate a little of that feeling.

Take a spontaneous trip. No pre-planning or thinking of how much it'll cost or what you'll do once you're there. Just go.

Go to the zoo! The zoo is such a magical place, even at our age we find ourselves fascinated by all the animals and the atmosphere is always so infectious.

Eat fish & chips on the beach. Yes we've probally all done it, and at some point or another a cheeky seagull has tried to nick your battered sausage, but we feel this is a traditional that should be upheld annually!

Rent a bike & cycle somewhere you'd usual drive.

Turn off your phone, TV, computer, ipad, ipod.. i everything else! Sometimes we're so busy on all our expensive gadgets that the day goes by without us even realising. Go out, stay in.. whatever, just do it without the help of you're little electrical friends.

Go to the beach and collect a whole tonne of seashells. Get creative with it, take them all home and make a wind chime or something!

Do a pub crawl with friends. There's nothing better than sitting in a pub garden on a beautiful warm summers evening.

Plan a day trip for your parent/parents. When we were younger our parents went to so much effort in the summer holidays to make sure we had a good time & so we think it's time we repaid the favour.

Make a gourmet meal for your pet. How it it fair that our poor dogs and cats have to sit around watching us eat the yummiest BBQ food, take the time out to cook them something special.

Sleep outside.

Go out and pick some flowers. Why spend £10 on a bunch when you could make your own!

Is there anything you guys are looking forward to this summer? We'd love to hear everyone elses summer bucket list! :D

H&M Homeware wishlist

H&M Homeware wishlist

In September, both of us will be moving in to a new house for our last year at University so we're currently browsing for some homeware items, that aren't too expensive, that will make our new house seem homely. We thought that we would show you some of the things that we've found so far to give you some inspiration.
H&M is always on top form when it comes to homeware. They do the minimalist, shabby-chic thing PERFECTLY and their prices are pretty darn good too so this was our first stop when it came to homeware browsing. Here are some of our favourite things that we've found so far...

The first thing that comes to mind when we think of comfort/home is cushions. The only downside with H&M is that they don't really sell cushions as a whole, only cushion covers, which isn't that great if you don't have any cushions to put them on in the first place! Alas, these covers were too good to pass up! At only £3.99 and £7.99 they're very affordable and usually covers from H&M are good quality which is always a plus. Decorative cushions can instantly make a room seem more home-y so these were a must.

We absolutely love the ceramic products that H&M do. They add a little something different from your average plastic containers. This mug would be really handy because we could put our pens in it, or our make up brushes which will help to keep our desk tidy which is always nice.

A chopping board isn't really necessary for us (because lets be honest we can hardly be bothered to make dinner half the time, let alone remember to use a chopping board) but because this is so cute, we would probably use it for a background when taking pictures for the blog. Recently we've been reading up on how to improve our photography and using different backgrounds is really important, so we want to invest in some things that would help us do that! Also, while it's not being used it would be nice to keep some candles on or perfumes.

5 & 6: CANDLES.
This is another small thing that can really change a room. These candles would look so nice together because they're different colours but all kind of in the same theme. We also love that they have different names like ' SOUL', 'AIR' and 'GARDEN RAIN' (which sounds delicious) rather than just your run-of-the-mill Vanilla. They definitely look like high-end candles, but at only £3.99 and £7.99 they're definitely not priced like them. Plus, after a long day at Uni we love to relax in the evening with fairy lights and a face mask on so candles just add a really nice ambience to a room when winding down.

This one is probably the most necessary and useful of all the products mentioned (mumma will be proud) - a laundry basket. We all need one, but unfortunately not all are pleasant to look at. However, this one from H&M is just minimal enough to look kind of chic? As we said before, H&M have got this kind of traditional, shabby-chic thing down and this is the perfect example. Now even our washing can look cool!

Another candle. Yup. BUT LOOK HOW CUTE IT IS, IT'S A PINEAPPLE! All jokes aside though, this could actually be useful as a book end, to stop our books from falling over. AND IT'S A PINEAPPLE.

New York, New York

New York, New York

It's well known that New York is one of the fashion capitals of the world, so as a homage to the tremendous sense of style that New Yorkers possess we thought that we would share some celebrity-inspired New York-esque outfits.

This first outfit, as wonderfully demonstrated by Elizabeth Olsen, takes inspiration from this seasons boho trend- with the embroidered jacket. However, it stays true to the real New York street/casual look as it mainly consists of staple pieces like the plain Black fitted trousers and a plain Black, oversized tee. Wearing all black with the tiniest pop of colour looks really chic (although maybe not ideal for Summer).

The next outfit is perhaps a bit more ideal for this time of year. Inspired by one of our favourite fashionistas - Vanessa Hudgens, it is perfect for Summer in the city. The flat ballet pumps are much more suitable for walking the streets than a six inch slingback - heck, we can't even stand still in heels let alone walk! Also Skater skirts are so flattering on just about anyone and you can never go wrong with a floral in Summer!

Now this is what I immediately think of when I think "New York Street Style". It gives off that kind of, 'just thrown this outfit together because I was out really late last night at a really cool cocktail bar with my really cool friends' look. You know, the one we all want?! There's something about an oversized jumper paired with an oversized bag that just looks really stylish. New Yorkers do smart/casual PERFECTLY.

Finally, this look highlighted by Rita Ora for DKNY is much more casual yet still looks fashionable - which I guess street style is all about. Ripped Jean shorts are perfect for the hotter weather and timberlands are really popular right now, so together they make the perfect combo. Just pair with winged liner and a statement lip for a real street look.

Thanks for reading guys, we hope you enjoyed! Let us know in the comments what you're favourite street style look is!

So last week we were just casually browsing our emails, as we do so often, and we came across this...
It might seem insignificant but we just want to say thank you to every single person that follows us! We just started this blog to share some of our interests with people and we love doing our thing on here so we're so happy that 500 people care enough to follow us. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We were also nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by the lovely Emily at emilyslittlenotepad, so we thought that it would be fitting to link that in with this post.

  1. Thank the person(s) who gave you this award
  2. Include a link to their blog
  3. Select bloggers you've recently discovered or follow regularly
  4. Nominate these bloggers for this award
  5. Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself
1) One time when I was really drunk I thought it would be a good idea to wee in a fridge draw... it's a long story (isn't it always?!).
2) I have a strange aversion to little girls. I just don't like them... so if the universe is listening right now, i'd prefer to squeeze out a few little boys in the future, hook a sister up?
3) My big toes are huge, in fact they're so big that when I drive bare feet I use them to brake.
4) I recently learnt how to mow the lawn & I must say, i'm awesome at it.
5) This isn't really a fact about me but it's a life event shall we say... the other day I drove past a pug in the park and I literally started crying. I need one in my life, it's becoming a problem.
6) I shake my dream catcher over the toilet & then flush to get rid of the bad dreams... does anyone else?
7) I often have internal battles with myself when it comes to making a decision. Right now as I write this I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not to go and get the washing from outside because it's raining.. but it's already wet now so do I even bother? Then again I don't want my clothes smelling of rain, but I might be too late... I just don't know!! D:

1) When I was younger my parents never took me to Disneyland so now I have some strange obsession with Disneyland. Like I literally sit for hours watching videos on YouTube of the rides and the parades and stuff.
2) I'm really in to music. My music taste is so varied because I just pretty much love all types. Going to gigs is my favourite past time in the entire world - nothing beats that rush of energy when you're in a crowd singing along to a cracking tune.
3) I have a little sister and she's like my BFF.
4) My favourite thing ever is when I'm in the shower of a morning, washing my hair and whatnot, and the sun shines through the window - I don't know what it is, it just makes me smile.
5) I've tweeted over 17,000 times (most of which are probably about fit celebs).
6) I get so easily obsessed with TV series'. I've gone through Skins, Game of Thrones, RuPaul's Drag Race, The Office and I'm currently obsessed with Entourage.
7) I wish I had blonde hair :(
